May Contain Nuts was an album released by the musician Kastr in 2020. The title references the musician's nut allergy.
I was hired to create an illustrated album cover inspired
by the title.
I began the project by sketching options to help define a direction. After the first round of sketches, the client wanted to move forward with the idea of a wrapper. The themes of the project were humorous, hand-illustration, and black and white.
I wanted to incorporate the title into the packaging of the peanuts. I decided to give the nuts faces and personalities to communicate the ecstatic energy of the music.
